As well as a fantastic location with stunning views across the Mediterranean, Grand Hotel Capodimonte has a unique feature - five cascading pools. They’re nestled in a green oasis of olive and lemon trees, creating the ultimate place to relax. Even better, Bar Aperitif L’Agrumeto has a terrace overlooking the pool area, where you can chill with a cool cocktail or devour grilled fish and fresh salad.
When you’re hungry, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Le Querce is a fine dining restaurant, where in the summer you can enjoy a weekly ‘Sorrento Soirée’ on the terrace, dishing up only the best local specialities. Le Ginestre provides an attractive alternative, serving top notch Neapolitan and international cuisine. Both are open for breakfast and dinner. At lunch time you may decide to dine with a view over the Gulf of Naples, at Bougainvillea. But don’t eat too much herb grilled chicken, as you’ll want to leave room for one of the tasty Sfogliatella desserts. For a pre or post-dinner drink there’s Gli Ulivi Bar, open from 6pm to midnight, where you can relax to the sweet melodies being played in the background.
If you want to take your relaxation to the next level, pay a visit to The Lemon wellness centre, where experts provide a wide selection of massages and beauty treatments. Or if you prefer to exercise, the gym is fitted with Technogym® equipment, for a personalised workout.
Standard rooms feature everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel, including satellite TV and a combined bath and shower. Superiors boast a balcony, while Premiers guarantee breathtaking views across the bay. All are furnished with locally produced furniture, giving them a traditional Italian look and feel.
The hotel is located just outside the centre of Sorrento, with its beaches, interesting architecture and a wide range of bars and restaurants. Day trips are also easy too, thanks to the conventionally placed station. Trains to Pompeii take just 35 minutes, where you can spend a full day exploring the vast archaeological site, overlooked by the towering Mt Vesuvius. Alternatively, take a boat to the island of Capri with its famous blue grotto. There are also a number of scenic hiking trails in the area, providing the opportunity to get out and explore the great outdoors.
