The first of the two North American races heads for a great and fan-friendly track, in one of the most vibrant, cosmopolitan cities of the world. Montreal literally takes Formula One to its heart for the week of the race and there is a passion here that is a match for any venue in Europe.
You don’t need to worry about transportation either; the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is on the Metro line. The unique track, on an island in the middle of the St. Lawrence Seaway, has a mixture of long straight and tight hairpins. It requires a sympathetic driver not to use the car’s brakes too hard in the early stages of the race.
