Congratulations to Liverpool FC on reaching the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final.

We are now SOLD OUT of all seats to supporters with official match tickets from Liverpool FC.  There will be no further availability.

Flights will depart during the early hours of the morning of the final and return during the early hours after the game.  Itineraries may not be sent until 24th May due to the slot confirmation process at Kiev.
We are offering flight only. Transport to and from the airport in Kiev will not be arranged by Thomas Cook Sport but shuttles will be arranged by UEFA and the local authorities.

Why can’t you get more planes for Liverpool fans to travel to the match?

We are disappointed that we have not been able to get more than four aircraft for Liverpool fans to travel to Kiev. For a number of reasons, there simply aren’t that many available aircraft of the required standard to charter for the game to Kiev, and there is very high demand across Europe for the planes which are available. While we are using one aircraft from our own fleet, our ability to charter aircraft outside of our own planes has been limited.

Why are flights so expensive?

Prices are based on a number of factors. For most airlines and travel companies, the summer season starts in May, which means there are a lot more planes in use across Europe and fewer aircraft available to charter than in the winter. It’s also the same weekend as the Monaco Grand Prix, half term and a bank holiday. This means the cost that aircraft leasing companies charge to charter an aircraft is much higher than usual.
Furthermore, the aircraft we are using are not based at Liverpool airport, and costs are increased by having to position them in to operate these flights.

Why did prices go up so much overnight?

When we secured the additional aircraft for supporters, the increased price of seats reflected the increased cost we incurred from the aircraft leasing company. In no way have we been putting prices up to take advantage of supporters who want to get to Kiev.

Why is the process for selling seats require a validation process?

We want to make sure that as many fans as possible who have a ticket are able to travel to the match. This is why we operate a two-step validation process between the club and ourselves.  All supporters travelling with us have an official match ticket obtained from the club, in line with their selling criteria.

Why was the price for the Manchester City’s similar game in the Champions League this season so much cheaper?

Manchester City’s game against Shakhtar Donetsk on December 6th 2017 was played in Kharkiv, Ukraine. This game was scheduled after the Champions League draw in August. This meant there was more time to arrange planes to transport supporters and a much higher availability of aircraft during the quieter winter flying season. This aircraft was based in Manchester so did not have repositioning costs.  For Man City, as the official travel provider, we were the only operator looking for an aircraft for this fixture.  For a final, there are a number of operators searching for aircraft for both Liverpool FC and Real Madrid.
These factors all contributed to a much lower seat price for Man City fans travelling to Kharkiv.
