Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix

2016 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix Break

The 2016 Formula 1 calendar once again visits the exceedingly popular Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, considered one of the most challenging tracks to conquer by many Formula 1 drivers and teams alike. The legendary Michael Schumacher is the track’s leading winner with six first place finishes, which has contributed to Ferrari’s sixteen constructor’s victories in the Belgian Grand Prix. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel will be looking to revisit the fond memories he has at Spa with two wins and the circuit's fastest lap in history to his name, after a disappointing end to his 2015 effort, where a tyre blow-out on the penultimate lap cost him the chance of a podium. Lewis Hamilton proved his dominance over Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg after taking the win at the Belgian Grand Prix, with Romain Grosjean completing the podium with one of the standout performances of the race.

Set in the forests outside of Francorchamps, this quiet part of Belgium is transformed into a hive of activity when F1 comes to town. The popular Belgian GP once again entertains the biggest names in F1 racing and attracts people from far and wide for one of the season’s fastest races with some of the most exciting corners in the season. The track has been perfected since its inaugural race in 1925, the 9km original version has been reduced to just little over 7km; with the fast, foot to the floor corners of Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Blanchimont to the slower corners that racers have to position the car perfectly for, such as Les Combes, Malmedy and La Source. It is hard to believe that in one track there are so many legendary names for drivers to challenge themselves over 44 laps.

Thomas Cook Sport invites you to get your adrenaline pumping in Belgium for the Spa GP with our F1 packages that are sure to give you the ticket for the ultimate Formula 1 weekend experience.

Breaks include return flights or Eurostar tickets, accommodation and Sunday circuit transfers. There is also the option to add tickets, VIP hospitality and Saturday circuit transfers to your booking.
